Financial Report (Q2/2024)

Below you will find a detailed breakdown of how the Village Youth Fund utilized donations during Quarter 2 (April 1 - June 30). During this period, we faced some challenges, including an incident in Turkana where one of our students had her uniform, mattress, and supplies stolen. We promptly replaced these items and have implemented measures to enhance the security of student belongings to prevent future occurrences. Further challenges included a situation where one of our students discovered she was pregnant and was subsequently kidnapped by the man who impregnated her and taken to Samburu. This situation necessitated unexpected expenses to locate her and ensure her safety.

Please note that salaries are not included in this report, as they are entirely grant-funded, with no portion of donations allocated to salaries or other overhead expenses. Currently, our only overhead expense is transportation for field officers to transport the girls to and from school and to visit schools or shop for their supplies. Between Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 of this year, a total of $386.54, or 6.7% of our total spending, was used for overhead. This is particularly notable, as most nonprofits allocate approximately 35% of their funding to overhead expenses.
